What is MCT-Oil and where does it come from?
Medium chain triglycerides (MCT) - are fats that are naturally found in coconut and/or palm kernel oil.
Fat molecules are structured in "chains." As the name implies, medium chain triglycerides (MCT’s) are shorter
than the long chain triglycerides. This makes them more easily digested by the body than long chain triglycerides.
"Fractionated palm / coconut oil" is a fraction of the whole oil, in which most of the long-chain triglycerides are removed so that only saturated fats remain. It may also be referred to as "caprylic/capric triglyceride" or medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil because mostly the medium-chain triglycerides caprylic and capric acid) are left in the oil.
In addition, MCTs are a burning fat, not a storing fat. When they are metabolized in the body they even bring some of the stored fat we have with them. Yes, it's true.
